The Bose Conspiracy engages with the idea of mistaken and assumed identities—how individuals come to be seen, remembered, or sometimes misremembered. In the course of reading and listening, I came across references—often uncertain, sometimes contradictory—to individuals whose identities had, over time, blurred into something else.

One such thread led me to a defining moment in Bengal’s armed resistance—the Chittagong Armoury Raid of April 18, 1930 and another fugitive, whose presence, real or assumed, seemed to echo across different narratives—occasionally intersecting with events that history records more firmly.

What stayed with me was not the claim. It was the persistence of the question. That was enough for it to enter the story—quietly, but firmly.
